Well here we go. It’s time to start ranking the best players in the ACC for the 2020 season. As usual we hope you enjoy the rankings.
Previous and Upcoming Rankings
Quarterbacks | Running Backs | Wide Receivers | Tight Ends |
Defensive Linemen | Linebackers | Cornerbacks | Safeties | Special Teams
1) Jimmy Morrissey, Pitt
If there is a pre-season offensive lineman honor, Pitt center Jimmy Morrissy is on it. The 6’3″ 305 lb center was a 1st team All-ACC pick last year. NFL draft projections have Morrissey going anywhere in the 1st three rounds in next year’s draft.
2) Christian Darrisaw, Virginia Tech
We have him Christian Darrisaw 2nd on list of returning ACC linemen. Pro Football Focus calls Christian Darrisaw the best returning offensive lineman in the ACC. Darrisaw has been a top-notch lineman since his arrival at Virginia Tech. In 2019 he made some several All-ACC teams. I’ve already seen him projected as high as a 2nd round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
3) Ben Petrula, Boston College
In Jeff Hafley’s first season at Boston College, he may inherited the best offensive line the ACC. The 6’5″ 310 lb offensive lineman was a 2nd team All-ACC Selection in 2019. He’s been a versatile lineman while at Boston College, and is a definite NFL prospect likely to go in the 2nd or 3rd round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
4) Jackson Carman, Clemson
Clemson lost 4 starters of their offensive line, but return Jackson Carmen who now becomes the anchor of that line. At 6’5” and 345 lbs, Carman is a tremendous run-blocker. Mock NFL Drafts have Carman going late in the 1st round or in the 2nd round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
5) Zion Johnson, Boston College
How many ACC programs, can claim surefire multiple NFL prospects along their offensive line? Boston College can. Zion Johnson is BC’s second entry on the ACC’s top 5 offensive linemen list. His junior season saw him become a 2nd All-ACC pick, with even higher goals in 2020.
