Best and Worst case record for Syracuse football in 2019

Best / Worse Case Record for :

Louisville | Virginia | Miami | Duke | Georgia Tech | Boston College | Pittsburgh | Florida State | Virginia Tech | NC State | Clemson  | North Carolina | Wake Forest

Syracuse
Dino Babers and his Syracuse head into the 2019 as one of the most underrated teams in the country. They are coming off a 10-3 top 15 season, and the rest of the country doesn’t seem to be paying attention. Well here, we are very aware of the of the kind of team Babers has. This Syracuse Orange team is rock solid, and is likely the biggest obstacle in the ACC to the playoff hopes of the Clemson Tigers. Babers rebuild of the Syracuse program is as good as you’ll see anywhere. Can he continue the momentum?

Will Go 11-1 (7-1) if:
Tommy DeVito turns out to be the QB as many of think he is. DeVito played well last in leading Syracuse to wins over UNC and Florida State. If he can do that over the course of an entire year, the offense won’t miss a beat.

The defense has some talent, but must improve from last year. The Orange’s defense ranked 88th last season in total defense and 116th pass defense. Similar number and Syracuse won’t reach their potential. Could an 11-1 Syracuse be your ACC Atlantic Champion? Nobody has played Clemson tougher the last 2 years.

Will Go 8-4 (4-4) if:
Syracuse can’t handle being the team with the target on their back. There have been other ACC teams that had double digit win seasons and fell back quickly. Georgia Tech (2014), UNC (2015), Virginia Tech (2016) come to mind. It’s not easy to stay on top, and Syracuse is going to get other teams best shot.

Road games NC State and Florida State will not be easy. Then there is of course the monster that is Clemson. Maybe a Duke or Boston sneaks up and get s Syracuse too. The defense needs to be significantly better than last year it was give 426 yards and 27 points a game. It’s crazy to think the worst case scenario for is Syracuse is 8-4. That proves how far Dino Babers has taken this program.
