Virginia Tech’s 3 Most Recent Nationally Relevant Athletic Results.

Do you want to find out the health of your favorite ACC schools athletic program? When was the last time they did something nationally relevant?

This summer will list the 3 most recent nationally relevant athletic results for each ACC school. This would be one of the following.

College Football Bowl Win

Sweet 16 in Men’s or Women’s Basketball 

Baseball Super Regional 

National Championship in any other Sport 

Virginia | Florida State | Georgia Tech | UNC | Duke | Miami | Pittsburgh | Syracuse | Clemson | Wake Forest | Louisville | NC State | Boston College

When you have to go back four years to find 3 nationally relevant athletic results, that’s not good. Buzz Williams looked to be building something with Hokie basketball and left. The football team is coming off a 6-7 season. Will Virginia Tech be adding to this list anytime soon?

Men’s Basketball Sweet 16 – March 29, 2019

Buzz Williams guided Virginia Tech to one of it’s best seasons ever. This was a special team that will be long remembered in Blacksburg. Mike Young is the new Hokie head coach tasked with keeping the momentum going.

Virginia Tech 35 Arkansas 24 (Belk Bowl) – December 29, 2016

This was one of the great bowl comebacks of the decade. The Hokies were down 24-0 at the half, and stormed back to beat Arkansas. It was part of the ACC’s 9 win bowl season and the ACC’s 10-4 record against the SEC in 2016. Virginia Tech finished ranked 16th in the country, and it was their first 10 win season since 2011.

Virginia Tech 55 Tulsa 52 (Independence Bowl) – December 26, 2015

Frank Beamer went out a winner in this thrilling 55 – 52 win over Tulsa in the Independence Bowl. The Hokies won 4 of their last 5 games in 2015.
