Why @MarkPacker and @WesDurham defending and promoting the ACC is so important.

One of the reasons I started this blog several years ago is I didn’t think the ACC got a fair shake by many in the media. The ACC didn’t have many supporters in the national media during it’s struggles of the BCS and early 2010s expansion era. @dannykanell was one of the first real national pro-ACC voices that I remember.

It’s been a rough summer for those in the SEC Media. It’s the summer Clemson became the SEC’s media worst nightmare.  Then the SEC Network’s mouthpiece Paul Finebaum apparently had enough of seeing Clemson’s 44 – 16 win over Alabama. He took a direct shot at the ACC. That’s every single school in the ACC.

With the ACC Network beginning, I don’t want to see their media members take it to the level of bashing of other conferences. It wreaks of insecurity. That doesn’t mean ACC Network members shouldn’t promote the ACC. That’s where ACC Radio Hosts @MarkPacker and  come in. We already know they know the conference and it’s history, but I like what I’ve seen from them this when it comes to defending the ACC .

It’s going to be so refreshing watching and listening to a channel that will be the counter to the other conference hype machines. I’m ready for it.
