Pittsburgh’s 3 Most Recent Nationally Relevant Athletic Results.

Do you want to find out the health of your favorite ACC schools athletic program? When was the last time they did something nationally relevant?

This summer will list the 3 most recent nationally relevant athletic results for each ACC school. This would be one of the following.

College Football Bowl Win

Sweet 16 in Men’s or Women’s Basketball

Baseball Super Regional

National Championship in any other Sport

Most 3 Recent Nationally Relevant Results for Each School

Virginia | Florida State | Georgia Tech | UNC | Duke | Miami | Syracuse | Clemson | Virginia Tech | Wake Forest | Louisville | NC State | Boston College

Pittsburgh, let’s be honest your athletics haven’t done much in recent years. Ok they haven’t done much in the last decade. Let’s hope the next 10 years are better for Pittsburgh athletics. They still did have James Conner and Aaron Donald play for them, so not all was lost the last 10 years.

Pittsburgh 30 Bowling Green 27 (Little Ceasars Pizza Bowl)  – December 26, 2013

You have to go back nearly 6 years to find Pittsburgh’s last nationally relevant athletic’s result. It was a 30-27 over Bowling Green in the Littel Ceasars Pizza Bowl). Should this even be counted? I guess it does fit the criteria.

Pittsburgh 27 Kentucky 10 (BBVA Compass Bowl) – January 8, 2011

This Pittsburgh win over Kentucky in 2011 led to an 8-5 season for the Panthers. It was still considered a letdown season for Pitt, as head coach Dave Wannstedt resigned before the bowl game.

Pittsburgh 19 North Carolina 17 (Meineke Car Care Bowl) – December 26, 2009

This 2009 Pittsburgh team was Wannstedt’s best team. They went 10-3 and finished the year in the top 15. At the time, it looked like Wannstedt had things moving in the right direction, but he never finished the 2010 season.
