Georgia Tech’s 3 Most Recent Nationally Relevant Athletic Results.

Do you want to find out the health of your favorite ACC schools athletic program? When was the last time they did something nationally relevant?

This summer we will list the 3 most recent nationally relevant athletic results for each ACC school. This would be one of the following.

College Football Bowl Win

Sweet 16 in Men’s or Women’s Basketball 

Baseball Super Regional 

National Championship in any other Sport 

Most 3 Recent Nationally Relevant Results for Each School

Virginia | Florida State | UNC | Duke | Pittsburgh | Miami | Syracuse | Clemson | Virginia Tech | Wake Forest | Louisville | NC State | Boston College

Georgia Tech dry spell of nationally relevant results is frustrating for fans and a black eye on the Jacket’s athletic department. AD Todd Stansbury has a lot of work ahead of him. We had to go back nearly 7 years to find Georgia Tech’s 3 nationally relevant results – not good.

Georgia Tech 33 Kentucky 18 (Gator Bowl) – December 31, 2016

The Yellow Jackets last nationally relevant result came nearly 2 1/2 years ago with Georgia Tech’s 33 – 18 Gator Bowl win against Kentucky. The win was part of 9 bowl victories for the ACC and played a role in the ACC being called the best football conference in the land in 2016.

Georgia Tech 49 Mississippi State 34 (Orange Bowl) – December 31, 2014

Good athletic results for Georgia Tech have been rare, but December 31, 2014 was a very special day. Georgia Tech completed a top 10 season with a rousing Orange Bowl win over a Mississippi State that spent several weeks in 2014 ranked #1. It’s was Paul Johnson’s crowning moment.

Georgia Tech 21 USC 7 (Sun Bowl) – December 31, 2012

This win was Paul Johnson’s first bowl victory. The Jackets were heavy underdogs in this game, and it opened eyes around the country.
