University of Louisville Head Football Coach @AllSportsDACC Top Candidate: Scott Satterfield

Good afternoon, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) sports fans.

Let’s be very direct here:  The University of North Carolina Tar Heels football team had a very bad season (this was a 2-9 Tar Heel football team).  Larry Fedora was recently fired.

As early as September 16, 2018, I thought that Appalachian State head football coach, Scott Satterfield, would be a top notch hire for North Carolina.

On the day Fedora was fired, the Sporting News dropped Appalachian State University (App State) Satterfield as potential candidate for North Carolina.  Here’s what they had to say about Satterfield:

Satterfield has compiled a 50-24 record with Appalachian State the last five seasons and has the Mountaineers positioned well in the first Sun Belt championship game. Satterfield will turn 46 in December, and he’s a North Carolina native who has proven he can build a winner in the FBS.

In fact, when I searched for Scott Satterfield, the top Google search was “Satterfield UNC”

Except, today, multiple reports indicate that North Carolina will hire Mack Brown (67 years old) as their next football coach  (h/t @WRALSportsFan) fjafhdlafhsalkfdhasdljfhaslfhsaafhdjafdhsjkldsf oh and ahfjdafhdjsalhfdaldfshj.

Guess what, Louisville?  Satterfield is perfect for you – he is familiar with North Carolina and the geographical region of the ACC.  And he wins.  App State has the #4 total defense in the country, #4 scoring defense, #24 rushing defense, the #8 third down percentage defense, etc.  I could go on an on about the App State defense – you get the point here – and Louisville needs A LOT OF HELP on defense.  App State has a top 40 overall offense (a top 15 rushing offense)  I’m certain he can recruit the right guys for the Louisville football team.  The Winston-Salem State Journal has a nice profile on Satterfield here.  And they are right, his teams dominate the lines of scrimmage.

@JamesIV1978 also has some good candidates here.

But if you’re Louisville, you have to go all out for Satterfield.

Vince Tyra, your move.
