Well here we go. It’s time to start ranking the best players in the ACC for the 2018 season. As usual we hope you enjoy the rankings.
Previous and Upcoming Rankings
Quarterbacks | Running Backs | Wide Receivers | Offensive Linemen |
Tight Ends | Linebackers | Cornerbacks | Safeties | Special Teams
1) Dexter Lawrence, Clemson
Never before in these top 5 position rankings have we had 4 players from 1 team make a top 5 list until now. Clemson has 4 possible 1st round picks led and Lawrence might have the most potential of them all. He has size and power. Lawrence is 6’4″, 340 lbs and is near certain NFL’s 1st round pick. He’s only a junior and could be headed to a dominant season.
2) Christian Wilkins, Clemson
ESPN calls Christian Wilkins the most exciting player on the entire Clemson team. Williams was a consensus 2017 All-American. In his career he has 26 tackles for loss. The versatile 6’4″, 300 lbs is probably headed to the NFL’s 1st round too.
3) Clelin Ferrell, Clemson
Clelin Ferrell is just another All-American defensive lineman for the Clemson Tigers. Ferrell is 6’5″, 265 lbs and is quick and athletic. In 2017 he had 18 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks. Yea he’s a projected 1st round NFL pick too.
4) Austin Bryant, Clemson
Austin Bryant completes what is the best defensive line in the country, and it’s not even close. Bryant is the 4th All-American for the Tigers, and another potential 1st round pick. 2017 was his first year as a full-time starter, so he could be even better this season. We won’t see another ACC defensive line this talented – maybe ever.
5) Joe Jackson, Miami
You better be one talented defensive line player to be ranked among Clemson’s defensive line studs. Joe Jackson of Miami is just that. WalterFootball.com projects Jackson as a 1st round NFL pick. Jackson has 15 sacks the last two seasons.

It they play up to their ability, it could be the best defensive line we’ve ever seen in the ACC

I agree with Jeff. The defensive line talent in the ACC is stacked the way QBs were a couple of years ago. I can tell you that I’m a big fan of VT’s defensive line, too.
