Ranking the 5 best Wide Receivers in the ACC for 2018.

Well here we go. It’s time to start ranking the best players in the ACC for the 2018 season. As usual we hope you enjoy the rankings.

Previous and Upcoming Rankings

Quarterbacks | Running BacksOffensive Linemen | Tight Ends |
Defensive Linemen | Linebackers | Cornerbacks | SafetiesSpecial Teams

1) Kelvin Harmon, NC State

How far as Dave Doeren elevated the talent level at NC State? He’s has arguably the top returning QB and WR in the ACC. He’s 6’3″ has the height NFL scouts covet. He comes off a season where he had 1,017 yards receiving with 4 TDs. He’s a projected 1st or 2nd round NFL pick.

2) Jaylen Smith, Louisville

Jaylen Smith had a a 60 reception 980 yard 7 TD 2017 at Louisville, and that was after missing 3 games last year. He’s 6’4″ and 223 lbs and has been clocked with a sub 4.5 40. An excellent red-zone target, I’ve seen him projected as high as a 1st round NFL pick.

3) Olamide Zaccheaus, Virginia

Who is the leading returning reception leader in the ACC? You might not have realized it is Olamide Zaccheaus of Virginia with 85 catches. He was second team All-ACC player last at WR, but he is capable of playing RB too. He averaged nearly 7 yards a carry on 27 rushes. He’s one of the more versatile players in the ACC.

4) Greg Dortch, Wake Forest

A 53 reception, 722 yards and 9 TD sounds like a solid season. That’s what Wake Forest’s Greg Dortch had in 7 games. If Dortch had played a whole season we could have been looking at 90 reception 1200 yard type season. He’s just a sophomore, and could be in for a monster 2018.

5) Ahmmon Richards, Miami

Ahmmon Richards topped this list last year, as he came off a freshman All-American season that saw him break several Miami records. Last year he missed 8 games with various injuries. If he returns to full health, he is not only one of the best WRs in the ACC, he is one of the best players in the conference. I’m counting on the WR with track star speed to start returning to form.
