Good evening, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) basketball fans.
Hope you are enjoying the last couple of weeks of ACC conference basketball season. Before you know it, the ACC tournament will be here in full swing.
My buddy @TalkinACCSports (Jeffrey Fann) repeatedly keeps you up-to-date on the ACC Bubble Analysis. Virginia Tech is right in the thick of things with a bid. The Hokies beat Clemson Tuesday night, have Boston College on the road, Miami at home, and Wake Forest at home.
Virginia Tech cannot lose on the road to Boston College. I repeat, Virginia Tech cannot lose on the road to Boston College. I repeat, Virginia Tech cannot lose on the road to Boston College. Losing on the road to Boston College would be an RPI killer for the Hokies – and put Virginia Tech back on the bubble.
Virginia Tech “does not have a good road record” (awful) at Boston College – we’re looking at a horrific 2-11 all time at Boston College. In fact, in 2009 and 2011, I’d say that losing at Boston College put a major dent in Virginia Tech’s NCAA hopes those years. Why is it so hard to win at Boston College? I have no idea – many people say that that place is like a hypnosis forum where you are lulled to sleep as a player. This can’t happen to Virginia Tech.
You can bet that Buzz Williams is mentioning these stats to his players – because in order to show progress as a basketball program, Virginia Tech must win at Boston College.
