Virginia goes for CWS Title against Vanderbilt.

This will be a short post for tonight, because there’s only one story at the moment in the ACC. That is the Virginia Cavaliers. The Hoos are looking to make some history on a couple of fronts. First and foremost, Virginia would win their first college baseball title, and it would arguably be the biggest sports moment in the school’s history. Personally I think a Baseball Title surpasses the Cavaliers Final 4’s in 1981 and 1984.

Secondly the Hoos can break that much publicized ACC Baseball Titleless streak going back to 1955. Virginia can be that team that pulls that off. In addition any time the ACC can claim a national title it’s good. Anytime the conference can have a member win a national title in one of the higher profile sports, that’s even better, especially when you’re trying sell ESPN on a conference network.

They have some work to do down 5-2 early to Vanderbilt in game 1.
